顾客入住后，如需用餐可选择餐厅或电话订餐，如果人想送餐到房间(Room Service)，总机服务员接到订餐电话后，首先要询问客人的房号，其次要问清楚顾客的需要，必要时可以为其推荐酒店的特色餐饮。另外，如果有最低消费和服务费的规定，应事先说明。有些酒店是由总机点餐，而有些酒店则是由专门的送餐部点单员(Order Taker)点单。
